Big Steps for Small Feet 2021
Babies are at the centre of every parents, world. Raising a child is the greatest challenge and most incomparable joy that any parent can experience. Caring for that little bundle of happiness, cradling them in your arms and holding their tiny little hands; that feeling is unmatched. However, as with anything, difficulties can arise. Each year, over 1,000 babies pass away in the UK due to neonatal complications, and as you can imagine, this is something that would completely shatter a parents’ world- unfortunately, Tiff was one of those parents.
You may very well be aware of the excellent cleaning services that Tiffany Bramley is the founder of Tiff’s Cleaning Angels, but you would never have imagined that she had gone through something so painful. In 2014, she gave birth to her little angel, Tianie. However, through premature birth complications, her time with her daughter was cut short. Words cannot even begin to explain how heartbreaking and terrible this must have been for Tiff. Very few have to endure what she did, and to do so she had to be incredibly strong and brave. Losing their child is something no parent should have to experience, yet somehow Tiff overcame the unimaginable, and as with any good mother, everything she does is for her daughter.
On the night of the 12th of June, she climbed to the top of the British Isles, the peak of Ben Nevis for the ‘Big Steps for Small Feet’ challenge. Standing at nearly 4,406t, above sea level. She scaled this dangerous mountain with only torches and the moon lighting the way. Tiff walked with parents who also have experienced the unimaginable, all of their brave souls raising money for charities supporting anyone affected by the death of a child. Tiff and everyone else who scaled that mountain with her are all unbelievably brave and strong people, but most notably, they are all extraordinary parents. They went above and beyond for their children, but also for other parents across the country who have gone through the same thing, raising money for them, and Tiff decided to do so through the charity, Bliss.
Bliss is the leading UK charity for babies born premature or sick. It supports families with a baby in neonatal care, works with health professionals to provide training and improve care for babies, campaigns for improved hospital resources across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. They raise awareness of the issues affecting babies in neonatal care by campaigning for change within government and the NHS, and through her hard work and unrelenting determination, Tiff has managed to help families across the country with her donation, however, of course the Tiff we know has no intention of stopping there.
Being as brave, friendly and inspiring as she is, Tiff wants to help others who have gone through the same experiences that she did, becoming a mentor. She wants to be an inspiration for them, showing them that if she was able to endure it, so can they. Quite frankly, Tiff could be an inspiration for each and every one of us, proving that through determination and resilience, we can overcome anything that gets thrown at us. Every step that she took up that mountain, every penny that she used to help those families, she did it for her daughter.
